Are you ever tired of having sore teeth after your orthodontic adjustments? If so, our Gary Lee Breece DDS MS team has some tips that will help you!

Adjustment appointments are necessary, but that doesn’t mean the pain is. To soothe your soreness and sensitivity after your orthodontic appliance has been tightened, Dr. Gary Lee Breece and our team recommend doing the following things:

-Rinse your mouth with warm water.

-Only eat soft and easily chewable foods.

-Take painkillers to relieve the discomfort. It’s generally recommended to take Tylenol or Advil—but only as directed on the bottle and only when necessary.

-Chew as much as possible. This may be a bit painful at first, but the more you chew, the faster you’ll feel better.

-If the pain continues after three days, call our office and schedule an appointment with your orthodontist.

We care about you, your smile, and your comfort, which is why we have provided these tips for you. We want you to have the most positive, successful, and beneficial orthodontic experience possible.
