Welcome! We are so looking forward to your beautiful smile! Thank you for choosing us to assist you in your orthodontic needs. We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial visit will consist of a thorough exam and discussion of potential treatment options. This is about a 30-minute appointment. We may also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records. The records include X-rays, photos and impressions for study models and are necessary for developing the appropriate treatment plan. This appointment will require an additional 30 minutes.
During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.
Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
How long will treatment take?
How much will it cost?
What are my payment options?
We will need a panorex (full-mouth X-ray) that either we can take ($52) or you can bring one that has been taken within the last year. The consultation fee is an additional $52. For each family member thereafter, a discounted fee of $40 for each procedure will apply. Payment will be due at the time of service. Any insurance checks for this service will be sent to you if the account is paid in full.
We will be happy to assist you in filing your insurance claims. Dental insurance doesn’t always include orthodontic coverage. It would be helpful, however, for you to know the following information about your insurance prior to your appointment:
Do you have orthodontic benefits?
How much does the insurance cover?
Is there a lifetime maximum per person?
Is there a waiting period before beginning treatment?
Is there an age limit for orthodontic coverage?
When calling your insurance company, have your insurance card handy so you can give them the information needed to answer your questions. The number to your company should be on the back of your card. If we have this information, we can better estimate the total cost of your orthodontic treatment. Bring your insurance card to your appointment, and we can file the claim for you.
Please arrive at your appointment about 10 minutes early to complete some needed information. You can also fill out new patient information online.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please allow us at least 24 hours notice. You are the only person the doctor is seeing at that time, so we would like to have time to fill that appointment.
